The MORE PCI Race Radios 300 was definitely one of those races where things were going good until they weren't. We started 5th off the line and immediately got into dust and lost some positions.
Despite the low visibility we continued to fight through and make our way through the field. The truck was running great and the best all year and we didn't have any issues on our first two laps.
We were running in third place as we came into the silt section at the end of our third lap. We hit the silt and the truck push us right into a berm or rock. The hit caused our inner tie rod bolt to rip out of the center link.
We were able to limp it back to the pit in hopes to get it fixed and back out to finish our last half a lap. We patched it but needed to have washers welded and could not find a welder near us. We ended up having to call the race at that point.
Overall, despite that issue the truck and the team did great and we couldn't be happier. The truck continues to improve with the changes that we have made all year long.
We will be back out in December at the last MORE race, but will be at the Off-Road Expo in Pomona, CA, on October 1st and 2nd, then the truck will be on display at the SEMA Show in Bend-Tech's booth.
We couldn’t have done the race without the help of Clinical Racing’s partners, which include Bend-Tech, Raceline Wheels, Falken Tires, Motul, Gravel Kings, FK Rod Ends, Rigid Industries, Atlas Suspension, Fuel Safe, Evans Coolant, JE Reel and Bartact.
